History of Mysore Sand Sculpture Museum

The Mysore Sand Sculpture Museum was founded by MN Gowri who has gained recognition in India as a popular sand sculptor. She did her graduation in fine arts and it took her a total time of 4 months to create this museum.

Her journey as a sand sculptor began at a festival organised by Akhila Bharatha Veera Shaiva Mahasabha in Mysore where she, with her hard work and dedication, designed the sand sculptor of Lord Shiva with Linga and a snake around his neck. From then, there was no looking back for her. This is how the Sand Sculpture Museum came into the picture.
