Its elaborate stone carvings are praiseworthy. You should visit it to seek blessings from the presiding deity, Lord Narasimha, an avatar of Lord Vishnu. It is the only temple where Lord Vishnu’s 3rd and 4th incarnations, Shri Varaha Lakshmi and Narasimha Swami, appear. Its detailed prayer routines remain undisturbed throughout the year.

Must See / Must Do activity: Attend the annual Chandanotsavam, Akshaya Tritiya, and Narasimha Jayanti festivals.

3. Submarine Museum

After serving in the Indian army for 31 years, INS Kurusura was decommissioned and turned into a museum in 2001. The Russia-built submarine was Kalveri-class and diesel-electric. It was India’s 4th submarine. It is the first submarine-turned-museum in Asia and the second in the world.

You will come across photographs, artifacts, weapons, and written scripts highlighting the milestones of the evolution of the submarine. Visiting it allows you to comprehend life inside a submarine and imagine the hardships that submariners face. There are six guides to help you with exploration of the museum. Look at the portraits of the royal family of Vizianagaram and Bobbili, armor suits, spears, muzzle-loading guns, handguns, revolvers, daggers, swords, and steel bows. Witness many models of warships, planes, and submarines.

An important attraction is the shell of a 250-lb unexploded bomb dropped by the Japanese during World War II. Crockery, Greek/Roman and Viking helmets, stuffed animals, coins, manuscripts, diaries, scrapbooks, maps, and silk costumes are displayed.
